AGA and Rayburn servicing
Ian services gas, LPG and oil AGA and Rayburn cookers at your home across Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall and Sandwell, with an annual service from £145. A yearly service keeps the burner working efficiently and checks the cooker is safe. He is Gas Safe registered for gas and LPG and OFTEC registered for oil, so one engineer covers all three.

An engineer registered for your fuel: Gas Safe for gas and LPG, and OFTEC for oil. Ian's numbers are Gas Safe 6061489 and OFTEC 11834.

The visit
What does an AGA service include?
The service concentrates on the burner and on the safety checks for your fuel type.
- Burner, jets and flueCleaned on gas and oil models, and the flame checked to make sure it's stable and set correctly
- Combustion and ventilationChecked, along with any leaks or soot build-up
- Controls and safety devicesThermostats, valves, ignition and the flame failure device are all tested
- Oven and hotplate temperaturesChecked, and adjusted if they're out
- Doors, seals and lidsInspected, along with the general condition of the cooker
On an electric AGA, Ian checks the wiring, elements and controls instead.
He has maintained the system since its initial installation and we have found him to be reliable and trustworthy.

How much does it cost, and how long does it take?
An annual AGA service starts from £145.
The final price depends on the fuel and the condition of the cooker. Ring Ian with the model and he'll confirm it.
A service usually takes a couple of hours.
Autumn is the busiest time for AGA servicing, as people get their cookers ready for winter, so it's worth booking early.
Questions about servicing
How often should an AGA be serviced?
Once a year for gas, LPG and oil cookers, by an engineer registered for that fuel. An electric AGA has no burner, so it only needs looking at when a fault appears.
Do I need a Gas Safe engineer for an AGA, or is OFTEC enough?
It depends on the fuel. By law, a gas or LPG AGA has to be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. For an oil AGA, use an OFTEC registered engineer. Ian holds both registrations. His Gas Safe engineer number is 6061489, the business is registered as 514574, and his OFTEC number is 11834.
Does a converted AGA still need servicing?
It doesn't need the yearly burner service, because there is no burner. If a fault appears, the usual suspects are the elements, the thermostats and the control board.
